Can we leave our DD5 and DD9 on the cruise in the kids play areas for the day while we go ashore to Nassau? How long can we leave our kids in the care of Disney cast members? Thanks!

    Ahoy Connie –

Welcome again! A pirate prince and fairy visit to Nassau without the little ones sounds like a good idea! My sea pup loves the Oceaneer Club so much that he would much rather stay there than venture off the ship, and so we leave him. There is no particular time limit to use the services of the clubs either.  On our last cruise, we checked our sea pup into the Oceaneer Club after he had breakfast, and we did not come back for him again until dinner time. Meals are served in the Oceaneer Club at set times, but pirate children can decline them if they are not hungry. We take out our sea pup for meals because he has so much fun that he forgets to eat! After a quick meal, he asked to return again, and once he got there, the Youth Counselors all greeted him by name. They jokingly told us that he asked them if he could sleep there overnight (the answer is no, you may not)! Parents have a Wave Phone that is used to facilitate contact with the Oceaneer Club, but they do not work unless they are used onboard or at Castaway Cay, so we do not spend too much time away in case we are needed. Another option is to check your sea pups into the youth activities at Castaway Cay while you and your pirate prince enjoy Serenity Bay, the adult beach. Connie, we are so thrilled to hear that your trip plans are coming along, and please come back to see us again soon at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
