I leave in 4 days for our first trip to WDW!! I have personalized tshirts, autograph books, & journals for my kids. Is there anything else that you MOMS have made specially to take with you to give it just a little extra magic?

Fun ideas Miranda!  We've done all of the above during one trip or another and all have gone over very well with the kids.

During this last trip we did something a little different.  My husband, who is a master of all things technical, created guidebooks not just for the kids, but for our extended family who joined us as well.  Each book included a rough schedule of the day's events, a brief overview of the restaurants we'd be dining in, and some fun filler stuff too.  We did "character comparisons" where we called out similarities between each family member and a Disney character.  I, for instance, was Tink because I tend to be a bit on the feisty side at times.  We also included some activities to help pass the time while we waited in line for attractions.  We made up a whole bunch of "Would You Rather" questions.  One example: Would you rather eat roadkill or a fried tarantula?  Besides those we also included some interesting Disney trivia questions that we found online.  For my youngest we threw in some coloring pages.  Of course, these are just some of the things we did, you could customize it to what would best occupy your kids.

We printed each page on a 4x6 index card.  After the books were finished we took them to an office supply store and paid a few dollars to have them bound.  The finished books were sized perfectly so as to fit in their fanny/back packs.  We kept the whole project under wraps until we arrived at WDW.  The kids absolutely loved their guidebooks and made good use out of all those boredom busting activities while we waited in lines and for parades.

Hope I've offered some additional inspiration.  Either way, it sounds like your family is going to have a very special trip indeed!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
