Can I leave Art of animation and travel to Fort Wilderness Lodge to fish?

Hello, Lesy, and welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you've stopped by to chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

Lesy, you can absolutely visit Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to fish while you are on vacation. It's not a straight shot to get there, but it's pretty easy. From Disney's Art of Animation Resort you'll hop on a bus to Magic Kingdom Park. Once there, you'll get off of the bus and head to the water launch area and board a boat designated for Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. It's a fun little boat ride and it will have you over to the campground in no time. Alternatively, you can hop on any bus going to any one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and then another bus over to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. I personally think going over to Magic Kingdom Park and then taking the boat is much more fun!

If you are hungry while you are at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, I suggest swinging over to P & J's Southern Takeout in the Settlement area. They serve really great food but the fried chicken and cornbread is my favorite hands down! You can get your food to go and enjoy it at one of the many outdoor seating areas they have set up. It's a perfect picnic.

I hope this helps you get to where you'd like to go, Lesy. If you have any other questions, please do stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
