We would like to get in at least one character meal during our week long trip. We have the dining plan for 1 TB/day so Donald's Safari Breakfast or Mickey's Contemporary Breakfast? Our kids are 13, 9 and 4. Thanks!

    Hi Allyson,

Do you really have to choose between Donald's Safari Breakfast and Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort?  If you are planning one table service meal per day on a week-long trip, I would do both!  Buffets are incredibly family-friendly.  Everyone gets to choose exactly what they want, and you can't beat the character interaction!  Some of the best photographs from my Walt Disney World vacations were taken at character breakfasts.  The characters come around individually to each table in the restaurant while you are eating so you get wonderful close-ups with the characters and your family members.

If, however, you feel you must choose between these two character breakfasts, ask your traveling part what is most important to them.  Would they rather eat in the Contemporary where they can enjoy watching the monorail whiz by while they dine, or would they like to try the new restaurant, Tusker House, in Disney's Animal Kingdom?  Chef Mickey's is a time-honored, classic breakfast experience.  However, you will only find Daisy Duck at Tusker House.  She's a pretty elusive character. (I still haven't got a picture with her!)  Tusker House also offers you the chance to sample breakfast foods influenced by traditional African flavors, alongside typical American breakfast favorites.  You could also make your decision based on more practical matters; if you're going to the Magic Kingdom then Chef Mickey's is very convenient.  Meanwhile, Donald's Safari Breakfast is a great way to start the day in Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Good luck with your decision!  Again, my vote is to do BOTH!
