What is the least expensive time of year to visit Walt Disney World?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Brittany!

As the organizer of my school's annual senior trip, I am always looking for ways to save money on Walt Disney World Resort vacations. Choosing to visit at off-peak times is a great way to stretch your vacation dollars. Here are some things to consider as you choose the dates for your next trip to Walt Disney World Resort:

    1. Try to visit when American school children are in class. Late August and all of September are wonderful times to visit because the kids have gone back to school and there are generally fewer Guests visiting the theme parks and hotels. When attendance levels dip, prices often do as well.

    2. January and February (except for holiday and runDisney weekends) are also times with lower-than-average attendance. The cool temperatures and lighter crowds make these months delightful times to visit. I have found good prices during these months.

    3. The week prior to a major holiday can be a great time to visit. For instance, my students often travel before Memorial Day. The prices are noticeably cheaper than the week that follows. I've noticed the same is true the week prior to Thanksgiving as compared to the week of Thanksgiving.

Let us know if you have any additional questions as you consider dates for your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. My fellow Panelists and I have dozens of suggestions for saving money during vacation, so don't hesitate to ask!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
