    Least crowded times to visit

    Thanks for your question! So this really is the big question for most travelers coming to Walt Disney World. We all want to keep our times in line short so we can enjoy more of the magic!

    I have a few simple rules to follow when helping friends plan when to go to Walt Disney World. Here they are;
    1. Rule #1: If kids in the United States are in school, crowds will tend to be lighter
    2. Rule #2: If kids are likely to be out of school, crowds will tend to be heavier
    As with all rules, there are caveats and exceptions. Here are a few to consider;
    • The week of Christmas through New Year's Eve is the busiest time of the year, bar none.
    • The week of Thanksgiving is busy too
    • While the Spring may seem like a good time for lighter crowds, due to Rule #1, remember that the scattered times of Spring breaks mean that crowds could have an uptick at that time.
    • If you are at Walt Disney World during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, try to schedule your visit to that park on weekdays, not weekends
    Trust me, a room of Disney enthusiasts could come up with 1,000 more rules or recommendations, but these should get you down the road of when to visit. But I do have something else to share. While it can be crowded at times at Walt Disney World, there is so much to do in each park and at the resorts that crowds don't always meet lots of time wasted in line. With the advent of FastPass+MagicBands, and innovations in the queue entertainment, you really don't have to feel like you are constantly in a line. You have at your disposal information about where crowds are lighter in real time, the ability to shorten waits at select attractions, and other tools that lead to less time in line and more time in the magic!
