I would like to learn how to plan and book a trip for our family for next November. There would be 9 of us. How can I look at pricing and options for a group our size.

    Hi, John! Welcome to planDisney.

Planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for a big family group is such a fun adventure. Traveling with a large party means you get to share all those "wow" moments together, from first views of Cinderella Castle to ending the day with fireworks.

Here are some tips I like to share with Guests who are planning a vacation for a big party:

    • Nominate an organized person in the group to lead in planning ahead.
    • Consider one another's budgets. You don't want people in the group to feel pressured to spend more money than they can afford.
    • Consider one another's travel styles. For example, some people might like sleeping in and enjoying a slower-paced Disney vacation. Others might like being in the theme park from opening to closing.
    • Make sure everyone communicates their expectations beforehand. Are there certain attractions, restaurants, or characters they want to experience?
    • Make sure you plan times to be together as a big group and do your own thing.
    • Let each person choose one must-see attraction.
    • Consider purchasing Lightning Lane Passes to cut down your wait times.
    • Make sure you carve out some downtime so that you can relax (this is especially important if you're traveling with young kids).
If you'd like to book a vacation for a large group, I'd recommend calling Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. You can speak to a helpful Cast Member who can make reservations for your large party. They can put a vacation package together for you that includes accommodation and theme park tickets. If you let the Cast Member know what your budget is, they should be able to find something that is practically perfect in every way.

Another option, John, is to find an authorized Disney vacation planner. There are many no-fee agents who can help you plan and book your vacation in the most cost-efficient way.

So that's where I'd start, John. The good news is that you have plenty of time to figure everything out. Good job on planning early!

If you have more questions, don't hesitate to stop by planDisney.
