I was leaning towards the Carribean Resort but my travel agent suggests All Star Movies as she suggests my niece (age 6) would enjoy the ASM resort more because she will meet more characters. What is your advice? (Trip is for March 2009).

I am so glad that you found us!

Go with your first choice. The Caribbean Beach is a beautiful resort as well as lots of fun for children.

All Star Movies does not offer any characters "to meet". While the resort has many displays, some of them larger than life, there would not be any character meet 'n' greets at the resort. In fact, unless you are dining at a resort's character meal, the chance to meet characters is mostly in the theme parks. Back when my son was about 2, there was a "character van" that would come to the hotels in the morning. It was welcoming to walk in to the hotel lobby and see characters greeting the guests but alas, the van is but a magical memory.

The Caribbean Beach Resort will be higher priced than the All Star Movies but it also offers many more amenities. CBR will be unveiling a renovated themed pool this Fall complete with fun slides for kids. Around the CBR, you will find sandy beaches scattered with hammocks and playgrounds. Meals for the kids (at the food court) are served in sand pails with mini-shovels!

The rooms at CBR are bigger than you'll find at ASM. In fact, they are the largest standard rooms of any of the moderate category resorts. The moderates are CBR, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter and Coronado Springs.

If your budget allows, I would definitely opt for the Caribbean Beach Resort!
