How does the Layaway Vacation Plan work for active military? Is the discounted price included when making the reservations? And also since my fiance is a first timer to Disney World but also active military,is there a some type of insurance for our vacation?

    Hi Kasey!

This is a great question!  I suggest calling Disney directly or working with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner when trying to apply the military discount.  An Authorized Disney Vacation Planner is a travel agent that specializes in trips to Walt Disney World, to Disneyland, onboard the Disney Cruise Line, and with Adventures by Disney.  They are usually paid by Disney so there is no cost to you.

For any type of package, meaning room and tickets, you have to make a deposit and then you can make payments anytime you would like up to the time when full payment is due.  If you are making a room only reservation, then you just need to make a one night deposit and the balance isn't due until you are at Walt Disney World.

For trip insurance, you can get some independent insurance.  I have had good experience with the independent company  However, you will want to look at what best works for your party and be sure to read the fine print!

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
