My in laws have offered to take our family to Disney Thanksgiving week. The only catch, I have to plan everything, including where we are staying. While I excited and grateful fot this opportunity, I am overwhelmed! Please help me get started!

    Hey Shayne!

What a fantastic opportunity!! Your in-laws rock!

It doesn't need to be overwhelming planning a large family gathering at Walt Disney World.  I would first start by getting an exact count of how many people will be coming along on this magical vacation and asking your in-laws what their budget is for accommodations.  This will help you narrow down your resort choices greatly.

Thanksgiving week is an extremely popular time of year to visit, so you'll definitely want to get your rooms booked right away.

Once you have your rooms secured, I would move right into dining reservations.  I would ask each family member for one dining suggestion and then compiling a list of places you really want to experience.  Go online or call 407-WDW-DINE and get those reservations secured ASAP.  You may find some of your must-do's are booked already.  Keep trying back each day to see if openings are available.  Persistence can really pay off!

I definitely suggest looking into attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party during your vacation.  It's a magical holiday celebration that will definitely kick off your holidays in the most magical way.

After your dining is booked, the rest will fall right into place!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
