Hi! My in laws are Florida residents and wanted to buy their grandchildren (non resident) for Christmas. They wont be attending with us and my husband and I will be buying non resident tickets. Can this be done?

    Hi Tina!

This is such a tricky question as there are a few things that have to be considered. Many grandparents enjoy treating their grandchildren to Disney Park Tickets. I know my own grandchildren would be over the moon if they opened a gift like this on Christmas Day and it is such a generous offer from your in laws.

They can certainly purchase these tickets but when doing on line or over the phone they will not be activated tickets until the first visit. At this first visit the grandparents would need to be present showing their Florida identification to receive the discounted price. They would not have to enter the parks but would have to be at the Guest Service window with you. Once the tickets are activated on the first day you would not need anything more from them.

If this is not possible then perhaps they could still make some magic by giving you a check towards their tickets when you vacation. You can make a gift showing a Disney ticket to represent what will be happening later on. Kids would still be very excited about this big surprise.

Hopefully everything will work out with the tickets but I do know everything will work out for you in having a magical vacation!
