Hello, Anthony, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I love that you followed up for more information about Disney's Riviera Resort. It's a gorgeous property and one that I know is a popular choice.
Anthony, I spoke with a Disney Vacation Club guide who confirmed why the
1-bedroom Villas have likely disappeared from the booking site. When
Disney's Riviera Resort first opened its doors, many of the points available for purchase (
how you buy into Disney Vacation Club) had not yet been claimed. As more and more Members purchase points denoting Disney's Riviera Resort as their "home" resort, there are fewer rooms available for cash bookings. While Disney owns a portion of this resort (and will always own a portion), if Members are primarily booking 1-bedroom accommodations, those could be pulled from the cash inventory pool if statistics show they are widely unavailable. As a Disney Vacation Club Member, when I log into my account, I can still see the 1-bedroom units.
I'm sure this is frustrating if you are a cash-paying guest who has enjoyed staying at a 1-bedroom at Disney's Riviera Resort, but I hope the information helps as you are considering future accommodations. While it is always possible that these rooms might reappear, I don't have any information about if or when the 1-bedroom villas would once again be listed as an option.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come on back to planDisney!
Lauren
