Is laundry free if staying in a DVC studio. If so how does it work?

Hey there, Sandra! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with such a great vacation planning question.

In just a couple of months, you'll be arriving at your amazing Disney Vacation Club Resort, ready to begin your magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. How exciting! With the endless fun of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, especially during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, I never thought that I would be the "does-laundry-on-vacation" type of gal. But since I discovered how easy it is to do laundry in a DVC Villa and even when staying in a Deluxe Studio and how much easier it makes packing and unpacking, doing laundry has become a part of some of my Disney days. Who knew?! I'm thrilled to help you lighten your packing load and answer your question today!

Since you will be staying in a Deluxe Studio, you will not have a washer and dryer in your room, but Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries!" You will still have easy access to complimentary use of washing machines and dryers conveniently located in your DVC Resort's laundry room. If you complete online check-in for your stay, when the Resort sends you a text to let you know that your room is ready, they will also send you a link to a map of the Resort. Look for the little washing machine icons to find the laundry room(s) or ask a helpful Cast Member once you arrive. While the washers and dryers are free, do bring your credit card to purchase laundry detergent from the vending machine if you need it. You can find more information on your Resort's website's Amenities tab, but just find an available washing machine and start your wash! We got no troubles; life is the bubbles!

Although you do need to stay somewhat close to your wash to move it to the dryer and then to your room as soon as it is complete to be considerate to other Guests, you can get a text sent to you to let you know when your load is complete. And have you heard of LaundryView?! This is a cool website, linked to several Disney Resorts' laundry rooms, that shows you, in real-time, how many washers and dryers are available and even how much time is left. Just enter your Resort into the search bar. You should be able to find your DVC Resort in the list. How cool is that?! Because of these two features, I recommend kicking your feet up at one of your Resort's pools or lounges for a bit while your laundry is washing and drying. This chore has now become the practically perfect excuse for some downtime! ... Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down!

Sandra, I hope this was helpful, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable summer vacation full of fun, pixie dust, and fresh, clean clothes! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have. You've got a friend in me!

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
