Hi there, Leighanne! We are so happy you stopped by planDisney with your question!
I'm so excited to see that you are staying at the
Disneyland Hotel for an upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! You are going to love staying in the magic, especially at this hotel which is wrapped up in the nostalgia of the early days of the Disneyland Resort. I absolutely love the photos of Walt in the planning phase that are sprinkled throughout the lobby, and it's always a thrill to find out if you are staying in the Adventureland, Fantasyland, or Frontier Tower!
It sounds like you are up to date on the latest news for the Disneyland Hotel, which is undergoing some construction. As you suspected, the laundry facilities at this particular location are currently not available, but I do have some good news for you! Guests of the Disneyland Hotel are welcome to use the facilities at
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, which is just a quick five-minute walk door to door. Open 24 hours, this laundry room is located on the second floor, next to the fitness center. No need to travel with a bag of change all the way from New Zealand as the washers and dryers accept credit and debit cards as do the vending machines if you need detergent or other laundry accessories. I only recently started using some of the laundry options during my travels, and boy does it make a difference! It's so nice to pack lighter and have a fresh set of Mickey and Minnie tees to hit the parks each day!
Did you know that some of the pixie-dusted perks of being a Disneyland Resort Hotel Guest are returning this month?! Early Entry will finally be back starting August 8th. Hotel Guests are able to get a jump start on the magic and enter the park they have reservations for 30 minutes ahead of park opening. Since you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. The
Disneyland Monorail station located just a few steps from the hotel will also open 30 minutes early for hotel Guests. If you haven't taken advantage of this transportation into Disneyland Park, now is the time! Not only will save some time by skipping the walk through the Downtown Disney District, but you will beat the Main Entrance crowd and glide right into Tomorrowland Station! Not to mention you'll enjoy 13 scenic minutes through the entire Disneyland Resort before hopping off and heading straight for
Space Mountain or
Matterhorn Bobsleds!
In addition to Early Entry, you'll get to enjoy next-day delivery on
in-park purchases so those mementos can be safely sent to the Bell Services desk and aren't along for the ride all day. We are also awaiting news about a
preferred dining reservation perk, which was just announced! I don't have many details to share quite yet, but it sounds like Guests of the Disneyland Resort Hotels will have access to a limited number of dining reservations at some coveted table-service restaurants!
Leighanne, I sure hope this was helpful in your planning! Be sure to schedule a bit of downtime to truly let the magic settle in around you. Grab a DOLE WHIP® at Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill, take a seat by the pool, and soak it all in.
Life is the bubbles!
