Hi Aubrie, welcome to planDisney!
Experiencing the magic of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort currently requires valid admission, a theme park reservation for each park day, and a
method of entry (MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card). Just last week, the
Disney Parks Blog revealed that theme park reservations for date-based tickets will not be required for visits after January 9, 2024. This is good news for Guests that like to allow for more flexibility and spontaneity when planning their park days.
Theme park reservations can be made or modified up until the moment you enter a theme park, Aubrie. This means you can make them months or minutes in advance. Theme park reservations have been known to fill up on certain dates, though, so I like to have my theme park reservations in place one month before a visit, if possible. A look at the
theme park reservation availability calendar currently shows all parks are available for all dates from now through January. Dates and parks that tend to fill up include Magic Kingdom Park on holidays like July 4 and October 31, as well as all parks the last two weeks in December.
As soon as you have valid admission linked to your My Disney Experience account, Aubrie, you can make a
theme park reservation. If plans change, you can always modify your theme park reservation to another park as availability allows. So if you planned to enjoy Cheeseburger Steamed Pods at
Satu'li Canteen in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park but you find a morning-of reservation at
Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom Park, you can most likely make it to the castle by changing your theme park reservation.
I hope this information helps you understand the theme park reservation timeline, Aubrie.
PlanDisney also accepts questions months or minutes before your trip so we hope to see you again real soon!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
