If I have late reservations in September and the parks seem to close earlier that month, how will I get back to resort? E have dinner reservations for California Grill at 9:45pm and our resort is Art of Animation.

Hi Heather and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I know people make reservations at the California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort because of the amazing view but my mouth waters just thinking of their incredible food! I can understand why you would be concerned about returning to Disney's Art of Animation Resort after a late dining reservation at another resort.

I would first check the Park Hours for the day of your reservation. Pay particular attention to the hours for Magic Kingdom Park since it's the closest park to Disney's Contemporary Resort. Even if the Magic Kingdom is closing early, check to see if they're having a special event like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Extra Magic Hours. Bus Transportation will run for an hour after park closing. Hopefully, you'll have plenty of time to walk or monorail to the Magic Kingdom Park to take a bus back to Disney's Art of Animation Resort.

If the Magic Kingdom Park is closing early and you won't be able to catch a bus from there, I would be to take a bus to Disney Springs and transfer to a bus to your resort. Buses generally run to and from Disney Springs until 2:00 a.m.

I would also consider using Minnie Van Service. There is a $25.00 charge but the Minnie Van would take you from Disney's Contemporary Resort direct to Disney's Art of Animation Resort. After a lovely meal at California Grill, it might be the perfect way to end your evening.

Heather, be sure to stop back by with any other questions.
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
