Hey Howdy Hey, Cathy!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! Although I have never enjoyed a stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, the
recently refurbished cabins have secured its position on my magical 'must stay' list. I also recently learned it's where I can find my beloved chipmunk duo hosting a nightly
campfire sing-along, so I am positively
nutty with envy for your upcoming stay.
Like you, I'm always hoping to maximize my time in The Most Magical Place on Earth, so I regularly request late
check-outs from our
Disney Resort hotels. Of course, these requests cannot always be accommodated, but it never hurts to ask. If you're hoping to request a late checkout, you might have luck making the request when you check in to the resort, but I've found that you'll typically need to wait until either the night before or the morning of checkout. At
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, you can make this request by calling the Front Desk or stopping by Reception Outpost to make the request in person.
With so many fun activities to choose from at Fort Wilderness (pony and wagon rides, bike rentals, fishing, and boat rentals to name a few), you may never want to leave! If you're looking for dinner and a show nearby, my pal
Alison RAVES about
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the meal or experience. Additionally, its prime location on Seven Seas Lagoon makes Fort Wilderness a great place to catch a glimpse of the
Electrical Water Pageant. In my opinion, its magical dance across the water is the practically perfect way to wrap up an already magical day.
I hope this was helpful, Cathy, and that you are soon embarking on the wildest vacation in the wilderness! Don't hesitate to stop back by if any additional questions arise as you plan.
I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
