How late does the boat between the Contemporary and the Wilderness Lodge usually run?

    Hello Megan!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I see you’re planning another trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth!

When my family visits Walt Disney World, we often stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We just love the rustic elegance of the resort and love to relax by one of the many roaring fireplaces. Next time you stop by the lobby, try and see if you can find the hidden Mickey on the main fireplace. Also, If you can ever make it out during the holidays, the Christmas tree and decorations in the lobby are quite the sight to see!

Water transportation is usually our first choice to get around. There’s just something magical about being on the water at Walt Disney World. It almost feels as though you’re being whisked to a magical place far far away. We often take the Water Taxi from the lodge over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We love to dine at California Grill or sit and relax at Top of the World Lounge inside Bay Lake Tower. The Water Taxis make it so easy to get there. From my personal experience, that route usually runs from 6:45am to 11:30pm. When we stay at Top of the World Lounge until closing time, we’ll take an Uber back to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. I spoke to a cast member and they said that hours can vary and that they may run until an hour after Magic Kingdom closes. I will also note that with all of the changes and preparations coming for a safe and efficient opening of the parks and resorts, the hours may change from the above and maybe even often. I would definitely either ask the resort staff upon check in and then confirm with the captain when taking the Water Taxi. There is usually signage as well stating the last pick up time.

Well Megan, I hope this information finds you well and that you have the best trip ever. If you think of anything else to help you plan, please come back and let us know.

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
