How late can you make ADR for table service? Can they be done same day if available? How many hours ahead? We have 2 already (CRT and Flying Fish) but with the more recent policy it seems you have to pay a fee if you cancel w/in 24 hrs. Thanks!

    Hi Lori,

Dining at Walt Disney World is one of my favorite activities, though I understand that it can be a bit of a balancing act to decide when to make reservations and when to wing it. You are correct that the new policy requires you to cancel any reservations you have 24 hours in advance or be subject to a cancellation fee. In general, I think it's a good policy because it helps assure that unused reservations don't prevent other diners from enjoying popular restaurants.

If you'd rather go with the flow a little more, you certainly can make reservations through the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone or tablet from inside the parks or resorts. Just put in the time you are looking for and you will see availability. You can even secure a spot a few minutes in advance if there are open tables.

Space also can be available in the table service restaurants on a walk-up basis, though you are traveling at a busy time so seats may be more limited.

I usually make a reservation for one table service meal a day in advance, then reassess each day for the next day's plans. On our most recent trip, for example, we decided on Friday night that we didn't want another big meal on Saturday night. So I canceled our reservation from my phone on Friday night and we snacked around the World Showcase at Epcot instead on Saturday.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I hope this was helpful. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as you make your plans. Enjoy, and happy dining!
