Hello, Rebecca!
Welcome to
planDisney, and thanks so much for visiting with your question. It sounds like you are as excited as I am that the
Disneyland Resort theme parks are scheduled to reopen on April 30, 2021. I will have to decide which of my favorite attractions to experience first!
As you know,
when the theme parks do reopen, a new reservation system will be in place to help the resort adhere to capacity restrictions set forth by the state. Additionally, only California residents with valid tickets will be able to make a reservation and visit the theme parks for the time being. Detailed information about how this system will work hasn’t been announced just yet. However, if you have a ticket from last year that may still be valid since expiration date extensions were granted for certain theme park tickets, link it to your Disney account on Disneyland.com or the
Disneyland mobile app and you will see the new expiration date, if applicable.
As we wait for more details to be released about the theme park reservation system, I recommend that you keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as it is a great source of up-to-date information. I hope this answers your question and that you’ll be able to visit the Happiest Place on Earth very soon, Rebecca! Please stop by again if you have any more planning questions as your vacation approaches.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
