Last year the skyliner was closed the week of January 23rd. Can I assume it’ll be closed the same week next year when planning ?

Hi Jason! It sounds like you are ready to glide through the skies over the Walt Disney World Resort aboard the Disney Skyliner! This mode of transportation has quickly become one of my family’s favorites! When boarding in the morning, I always joke with my kids that they are about to ride their first attraction of the day! Being connected to hotels such as Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, the Disney Skyliner provides convenient (and smooth) transportation to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

The Disney Skyliner does require occasional refurbishment and general maintenance. While we don’t know if that will specifically take place during January, updates regarding refurbishments can be found on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Refurbishments are typically announced well in advance so that Guests can plan accordingly. When you arrive at the website, enter “Disney Skyliner” into the search bar. When the page appears, refurbishment or service interruptions will be listed near the top of the page, usually in red font.

Jason, if our favorite “magic carpet ride” through the sky is receiving service during your visit, please know that other modes of complimentary transportation will be provided at your resort to whisk you away to your favored destination!

    Happy Planning!
