The last year we were on a Disney Cruise trip and two of my daughters got a magic band. We were on magic kingdom too, but with Standard cards. Now we are going to visit the parks again. Can we use those magic bands?

    Hi Daniel!

Guests visiting Walt Disney World can now use these new Magic Bands to make their visits easy and stress free. Guests who are resort guests will receive one complimentary with their reservation. You have the ability to personalize and choose colors before your trip and they will then be sent to your home so you have them before your trip.

If you are not a resort guest you can purchase one of the many fun designs and use it with your My Disney Experience account.

The bands that your daughters received on the cruise ship are only linked to the cruise lines at this time. They are used for the children's programs to allow them to know when the children enter and exit the kids club areas. They are not compatible with the magic band technology in the parks and resorts at Walt Disney World.

I am sure your daughters would love to pick out some new ones that have characters on them. You can see some of the examples at the Disney Store or wait and find them in the park shops.
