When we were last at WDW, my 7 year old son really wanted to see the inside of the castle. Would CRT be too girl-oriented for him? We have BOG reservations and I was hoping that would capture his imagination and be less gender-oriented than CRT.

Hello, Kim, you've stopped by with a great question. Yes, while Cinderella's Royal Table appeals to many little girls who dream of being princesses one day, it can also be intriguing for the boys, too. The princesses greet the guests during the meals, but there are also fun details that could appeal to boys like the armor, flags, coat of arms, and swords on the wall.

However, I think you have made a very wise choice for your son by going to Be Our Guest Restaurant. There are even more amazing details that I think he will love and enjoy. As you walk up to Beast's Castle, notice the gargoyles along the way. These make a fun photo op. Once you enter and are passing the suits of shining armor, take a moment to pause and be extra quiet as you might hear them whispering to each other! In the forbidden West Wing, you will find many cool special effects like the iconic rose that is losing petals and the slashed portrait of the Prince. Be sure to watch this portrait closely when the thunder claps for an extra-special surprise! If you are not seated in this area, you might be able to take a peek during a break or at the end of your meal. Just ask your server if it is possible. Keep in mind that the West Wing is very dark and with the constant thunder noises and lightening strikes, this is often a little overwhelming for little ones. However, your son may really enjoy this, but I just want you to be prepared for all scenarios.

I hope your son enjoys his time in this special place and gets a taste of being in a real castle!
