On our last visit, we were offered the option to "purchase" a Disney stroller (instead of renting it). I was a bit confused by this question and said, "I'll just rent it." but was wondering how does that work if I purchase it?

Hi Neal!  I will assume the cast member who you met about the strollers was referring to the small umbrella strollers Disney offers for sale in most of their shops.  It costs about $52-55 dollars and is actually quite nice.  It can recline and has a removable cover and a cup holder on the handles.  It is easy to fold up and unfold which is always nice when rushing to get on a bus!  Some families find that renting can cost as much for their stay as buying one of these and they then often leave them for other families who might be needing one versus taking it home.

The strollers you can rent in the parks must remain in the parks so that is another drawback.  They are larger so you can fit more then one child in them or packages and jackets.  If you feel this is the best type for your family then be sure and rent them with a length of stay option so you don't have to stand in line at each park. You simply show them your receipt and pick up the stroller for the day.

The last option for families is to rent strollers through a local business. We have had many good reviews for orlandostrollerrentals.com.  They offer many different types and sizes and will deliver to and pick-up from the resorts.
