    Last two visits we stayed at All Star Music. Next visit we want to go to a moderate. Checked out the Caribbean Beach - but seemed there was a long distance between the buildings! We are considering Port Orleans French Quarter - pros and cons please?

    Our family has enjoyed wonderful vacations at both of these moderate resorts.

    Port Orleans French Quarter is small and quaint. It's very charming with pleasant pathways, courtyards and fountains. This resort is wonderful for families with young children, however my husband and I stayed here pre-parenthood too. The pool is large and festive. However the slide is geared towards small children (about five and under). A huge benefit of this resort is that you can take the Sassagoula riverboat all the way to Downtown Disney. It's such a pleasant trip and a fun adventure too.

    I also enjoy the walk over to Port Orleans Riverside. This would not be fun on a really hot day but in the off-season, it's truly a nice stroll. POFQ has only one bus stop.

    The Caribbean Beach Resort offers slightly larger rooms. The main themed pool is currently under rehab and will be re-opened this Fall with a pirate theme. This resort offers sandy white beaches for anyone that likes to relax in a hammock or dig in the sand. Scattered throughout the villages are playgrounds in the sand. Our son loved this recreational feature! Ya know, dig in the sand, climb, dig, climb and so on.

    CBR is very large and yes the buildings are spread out. Each village has a quiet pool as well as its own bus stop. The Customs House offers a nice Check In area but it is not near the other resort amenities such as the food court and store. We stayed in a building in the Jamaica village. It was beautiful but the walk at the end of the day to the food court to refill our mugs was a bit tiring. With small children in tow, I would highly recommend booking a preferred room at this resort.

    Kid meals are served in sand pails and come with a shovel!

    A new way to tour the resorts is using Google Earth. Type in Walt Disney World. Once you "fly" to the area, click on the gold Mickey for a 3-D tour!
