Hi Jill,
Welcome to planDisney!
Last year, I encountered a similar issue. I suggest that you get grandma on the phone and
contact a cast member in Website Support. Once they access both My Disney Experience accounts, they should be able to switch your children to your account so that their plans are managed by you. I was so glad that I called to speak with a cast member when I had a similar issue. We had an upcoming trip and they were able to keep all of the plans in place when making the switch.
It looks like your trip is in November. Keep an eye out for the dates of the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. With a little extra pixie dust, you may be able to experience the gorgeous holiday decorations and special entertainment. My family absolutely treasures this time of year and have started a tradition of visiting in December. This year, we delayed our trip to early January and were delighted to see some of the holiday decorations still in place!
Although you still have some time, it is never too early to start think about which dining experiences you all would prefer. One of my girls is my assistant trip planner and she always does the dining estimates for us. We sit down one night and go through the restaurants we plan to visit, and we each tell her which entrees we plan to order. Although this may change, the estimate still gives us a good idea of how much money we need to budget.
We also create a list of hard-to-get dining reservations so that when our advanced dining reservation window opens, we try to secure those reservations first. We still love breakfast at
Cinderella's Royal Table and
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera in addition to dinner at
California Grill and lunch at
Space 220 Lounge. Also stay tuned. Your dates might coincide with the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival Presented by CORKCICLE®.
Jill, even though grandma may not be with you during this trip, I have a feeling you will still have a fairy godmother sprinkling magic during your adventures!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
