Last time we went to WDW on New Year's Eve, the Pixar Party at the Contemporary sold out too quickly to get tickets. We are going again and want to know if there are any secrets to scoring tickets to this event (if they are doing it again). Thanks!

Hi, Katie! Thanks for stopping by to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let's help you ring in the new year at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Katie, this is one of those times I really wish Fairy Godmother would come along and give us all a little "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" to help us get to the New Year's Eve ball. Disney has made their end-of-year celebrations extra magical lately, with over-the-top parties for adults and kids alike. The special celebrations at Disney's Contemporary Resort, like the Pixar Party: A New Year's Eve Celebration, have been so popular that they've sold out very quickly, as you learned last year. Two ideas come to mind: First, keep a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog over the next few weeks. Last year, they made the announcement about the New Year's Eve parties at Disney's Contemporary Resort on July 10, with tickets available for purchase at that time. Next, if you're on Twitter, give @WDWToday a follow, since the social media team is great about sharing the latest news. If you do get word in time to jump online, be sure your My Disney Experience account is updated with all your current info so you can order quickly.

My family has made New Year's Eve at Walt Disney World a tradition in recent years as well, and we also missed out on the Pixar party last year. But we found an amazing alternative with a midnight dessert party on the beach at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and we loved it! While we haven't gotten word as to whether this party will return, I'm hopeful that there may be some similar options families like ours can explore to celebrate the new year with a touch of Disney magic.

Katie, I hope this has been helpful for you. Please come back again if you have any more questions, and fingers crossed that Fairy Godmother brings us some good luck this year!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
