Last time we were at WDW we found the buses slow and cumbersome. Are there cabs available to parks/resorts/downtown Disney. Are they readily available at the resorts (We are staying at the Poly) or can you call for one? Thanks!

    Hi Lisa,

The buses can seem slow, especially at the end of the evening when you're tired and your children are even more tired.  I tend to be a cheapskate and just deal with the wait; however, my husband will spring for a cab at any sign of a long queue.  There are taxi areas at all of the parks, and the cast members outside the resorts will gladly call a cab for you.

I have to warn you that I have never paid less than $15 for a cab ride, and it often costs $20 -- to me, that's a splurge.  However, door to door service can be worth the extra money on evenings when you are dining at a resort and don't want to bother with transferring buses.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
