A very merry unbirthday to you, Cheryl!
I'm so glad you followed the White Rabbit through Wonderland and found your way to planDisney today. We're all mad for Disney here, and it seems like you must be too. Hooray!
Cheryl, I know it’s hard to believe that your MagicBands can
still work after five years, but it’s absolutely true! I use several of my older MagicBands on each of my Walt Disney World Resort trips and have not had any issues. Since your MagicBands are still showing as “active” in your
My Disney Experience account, you should be good to go. All of the functionalities at direct “Mickey-to-Mickey” touchpoints (think theme park entrances, scanning in for Lightning Lanes, the door to your Disney Resort hotel room,
charging purchases during your stay, etc.) should still be operational.
However, there’s a chance the long-range battery, which allows you to interact with various queues throughout the theme parks and automatically links your
Disney PhotoPass attraction photos and videos to your My Disney Experience account, may no longer be working. Because of this, you may want to set up a
Disney MagicMobile pass on your smart device as a backup system for
linking your attraction photos and videos to your account. Just make sure you enable Bluetooth for the
My Disney Experience mobile app in your device’s settings so your attraction photos and videos link to your Disney PhotoPass gallery properly.
Cheryl, I hope this information helps. If you find yourself curiouser and curiouser about all the exciting new offerings at Walt Disney World Resort or if more questions pop up before your trip, feel free to step back through the planDisney looking glass.
Keep painting the roses red,
Alyssa
