Hi, there!
Renee, I'm so pleased to hear you're planning another Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It's the very best kind if you ask me!
I have three kids ranging in ages from 2 to 9-years old, so my family always relies on
Rider Switch for our pixie-dusted adventures in the theme parks. This family-friendly service makes it possible for all of us (except the youngest, of course) to take turns riding popular
thrill attractions without experiencing multiple wait times! Rider Switch recently became an electronic process, making it easier than ever to use. Rider Switch entitlements are now issued through MagicBands and available to view on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. Guests who are issued a Rider Switch entitlement are essentially given a FastPass+ with a return window that lasts one hour.
To use Rider Switch, simply approach the Cast Member standing at the entrance of an eligible attraction and request to use the service. The Guest who will be waiting with the non-rider will be issued the Rider Switch entitlement which will be linked to their MagicBand. That Guest may also request to have two additional Guests issued a Rider Switch entitlement. This works out exceptionally well for my family because it means that my two sons can ride with my husband while I wait with our little princess. Once they exit the attraction, I can enter the FastPass+ line with my sons which means they get to ride twice!
I hope this was helpful, Renee. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort with a little one in tow!
