What's the last possible time I can make a reservation for the character breakfast like I see that at 11:00 is the last window but how much time do I have if I go at 11:00? I'm headed to Disney Aulani. Thank you!

    Aloha Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by with a question about my family's favorite Disney Beach Resort: Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. How exciting that your trip to Hawai'i is nearly here. You'll be enjoying the ocean air in no time!

When it comes to dining, there are several delicious options right at the resort. Since my kids love interacting with Characters as they pop up around the Resort grounds, Makahiki was an easy win for our family! Character dining is such a fun way to elevate a meal while enjoying relaxed, meaningful interactions with some favourite Disney pals. Guests can visit with Mickey Mouse and friends during breakfast at Makahiki. Along with fantastic food, you’ll be surrounded by beautiful local artwork, including intricate stained glass, vibrant murals, and dramatic lighting, or you can choose to dine alfresco on the lanai beside a peaceful koi pond.

The final seating for the Character Breakfast is at 11:00 a.m., but there’s no need to worry about feeling rushed. I checked with a Cast Member, who shared that Guests typically enjoy up to 90 minutes for their dining experience, giving you plenty of time to savour your meal and enjoy those special Character moments.

Tip: While you’re soaking up all the island vibes at Aulani, be sure to swing by the Pau Hana Room (Community Hall). This fun-filled space is packed with games, activities, and entertainment for all ages, and it’s also where you sign up for many of the resort’s daily offerings (schedule subject to change).

Some of my family's favourites include the Menehune Adventure Trail (a big hit especially in the evening when a little extra magic appears), designing your own Aulani-themed Mickey ears, learning to play the ‘ukulele, or trying Kāpala Ki‘i, a hands-on t-shirt stamping activity.

I also highly recommend checking the Aulani ‘Iwa, which highlights the week’s events and activities and makes planning your days a breeze. You’ll find character meet-and-greet times and locations, Rainbow Reef feeding sessions, and even beach activities your family might want to build into your plans. It’s such a helpful resource and a great way to make the most of your Aulani stay!

Wishing you the most wonderful visit to Aulani! If you happen to grab a refreshing Mickey-shaped shave ice from Pāpālua Shave Ice in the Waikolohe Valley pool area, be sure to enjoy one for me. If any other planning questions pop up along the way, we’re always happy to help here at planDisney.

    Adventure is out there,
