Welcome back to planDisney, Andrea. I love speaking with a fellow U.K. resident that can't get enough of the Walt Disney World magic. It also sounds like you're a 'waste not, want not' kind of lady like me. I'm all for thinking of the environment, so I appreciate you trying to get the best longevity from your
Disney band (known as MagicBands in the States).
Batteries on Disney bands are expected to last between two to three years - I'm not sure where you are on that timeline, but I have a couple of suggestions. First, give your current Disney band a go and see if it still works, but also set up
Disney MagicMobile Service on your smartphone. You can access your theme park tickets, virtual queues, and more using free service in the My Disney Experience app. This way you can be certain to access all your benefits from the get-go, such as memory maker if you're visiting with a
Magic Ticket.
If having a Disney band is a must (and I must be honest, I always like to use them), you can select from the plethora of magical options at Walt Disney World. The latest Disney bands provide all the same access as before, with exciting additional features such as colour-changing lights that interact with select nighttime shows. The choice is nearly endless, from solid band colours to those themed for your favourite Disney characters. On our recent visit, I couldn't resist a Disney band themed for the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival - one of the most bountiful and beautiful at Walt Disney World.
Andrea, I am so excited for you to start your magical adventure in just a few short days. Thanks so much for bringing your question to planDisney, and I wish you a truly jolly holiday! We're always here and delighted to help at planDisney, so pop back anytime, Louise.
