We have last minute availability to travel to Disney over thanksgiving (in 2 weeks). We can get a flight and accommodations. Will we be able to access restaurants and fast passes in the parks planning so late? Will we be able to access Star Wars galaxy?

Hi Kim! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Woo hoo!!! You are going to Walt Disney World!!! Last-minute trips are so exciting, aren't they??

I completely understand your concerns. Many Guests do plan months in advance, as dining reservations may be made 180 days prior to a vacation and FastPass+ reservations can be made 30 or 60 days in advance. You will find that some experiences are not showing any availability at this time. However, I would not let that deter you! With some flexibility, you will still be able to have a magical time. In fact, I helped my sister plan a visit for her family the night before her arrival. With a little persistence, we were able to make reservations for everything she wanted to experience.

First, let's talk about dining. Yes, some of the most popular Table-Service dining locations have been booked up months in advance. I would look at this as an opportunity to break "out of the box" and try somewhere new. There are so many wonderful dining locations, especially at the Resort Hotels, that are overlooked and likely to have availability. In addition, other Guests' plans change all the time. You just might find availability last minute for a restaurant you would like to try. So hop on the My Disney Experience mobile app, and see what pops up! Can't get a reservation? No worries! There are many delicious Quick-Service options, no reservations necessary! Some of my favorites are Flame Tree Barbecue, Satu'li Canteen, Woody's Lunch Box, and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Speaking of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the planet of Batuu has not required timed entry since first opening. You can check the status of the land in the My Disney Experience mobile app. In recent weeks, the land has been open with no boarding group required. Thanksgiving week is a busy time, so if the boarding group system is implemented, simply join a boarding group through the app and your party will be notified when it is your turn to enter the land.

You may not be able to get your first choice for FastPass+ experiences, but you should find enough availability to schedule up to 3 attractions per day. Some FastPass+ experiences will likely have scarce availability at this time, but in all honesty some of the most popular attractions have scarce availability 60 days out! Like dining reservations, other Guests' plans change all the time, so keep checking the app. You may be able to modify or change your FastPass+ reservations. For any popular attractions that you are unable to secure a reservation time, try visiting them first thing in the morning -- arriving at the park gates about an hour prior to park open -- or just prior to park close. You'll find wait times much shorter than in the middle of the day.

I think if you go in with an open mind and flexibility, you will have a wonderful visit! Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We will be more than happy to help you plan a magical visit.
