Welcome to planDisney, Yenitza! It sounds like you participated in one of my Disney Cruise Line musts: purchasing the
onboard-only offer for a discount on a future cruise. I feel better the last morning on the ship saying "SEA 'ya real soon!"
As you know, you have 24 months to use this placeholder offer. I'm sorry to hear you have not found a time that works for you to be back on board with Captains Mickey and Minnie. If you do not use your placeholder, the amount you paid for it will be
automagically refunded to the original form of payment at the end of the 24 months.
If you now know you are not going to sail before the end of the offer period, you have a few options. First, you can
call Disney Cruise Line and request a refund without having to wait. Another option is taking the refund amount and applying toward a deposit on a cruise that is scheduled outside of the 24-month window. I did this recently when I had an unused placeholder and was planning a 2025 cruise. I was able to reduce the amount I owed on the deposit by canceling the placeholder and applying the amount to be refunded. This may not be in your plans either, but it is an option if a cruise outside the offer timeframe is calling your name.
I do hope a Disney Cruise is in your future, even if not this year. With the inaugural sailings of the
Disney Treasure and the new island destination
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, there is so much excitement on the horizon.
If you have any questions about Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort vacation destinations, please come back to
planDisney.
Cheers,
Jana
