If we have a large group reservation for the resort how does each family book their lightning lanes for the parks separately?

Hey there, hi there, ho there Kayla! Welcome to planDisney, thanks for stopping by with your question. I'm thrilled to help! Looks like you're gearing up for a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. I'm sure you are counting down the days until you're at the Most Magical Place On Earth!

To share plans with everyone in your party, I would suggest that everyone create their own My Disney Experience account, if they haven't already, then adding them to your Friends & Family list. I would next suggest connecting your account to everyone in your party on their own devices. This will allow you to manage all your plans from your own account while still being able to share reservation plans and tickets with everyone in your party including Lightning Lane Passes

When using Lightning Lane Passes at Disney World, each individual must purchase Lightning Lane Passes for themselves for that day. This purchase is individual and must be done through each person's My Disney Experience account. If each friend is connected through the Friends & Family list and everyone has purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the day, then one person can make the reservations for the entire group or it can be done individually.

By linking through the Friends & Family list, one person can oversee and coordinate reservations for the group. This is especially helpful for families or groups who prefer one person to take the lead in planning. If different members of the group want to experience different attractions, the app allows for flexibility. Each individual can choose and manage their own reservations, and you’ll still see the plans for those who are linked. Kayla, one thing to keep in mind - for high demand attractions, it’s often best for one person to make the reservations for the group to ensure everyone gets the same return time.

I find the easiest way to connect to the accounts of friends and family members is by using your Linking Code. To find your Linking Code, tap on the 3 horizontal lines on the bottom right of the My Disney Experience app. Scroll to the bottom of the screen then under Disney Account, tap “Profile.” Next, tap “Show My Linking Code.” Once someone scans your Linking Code, you’ll be added to their Friends & Family list. Next tap “Show My Linking Code.” The app will then create a unique linking code. There’s a QR version as well as a manual code that your friends and family can type in.

Kayla, I hope you find this information helpful as you prepare for an exciting visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Have a magical day!
