Welcome to planDisney, Cathy!
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is coming up so soon! Let's see if I can help you get your accounts arranged just how you need them so you are all ready to enjoy the magic.
My Disney Experience allows groups large and small to plan their magical vacations together, but also to make plans separately when they wish. It sounds like you might need to connect your account with your mom's so you can
share your plans together.
You can invite your mom to connect through "My Family & Friends" under the My Disney Experience tab on the
Walt Disney World website. If you prefer, you can also do this using the
My Disney Experience mobile app. In the app, you'll find your Family & Friends list on the "My Profile" tab. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select "Add a Guest". You can connect by entering the Disney Resort hotel reservation number and last name on your mom's account, or you can select "I'll enter their name and age" and fill in the required fields. You will then select either "Invite this Guest to connect" or "Share planning with this Guest". (The wording varies slightly between the website and app.) Be sure to enter the same email your mom uses for her My Disney Experience account. She will receive an invitation to connect. Once connected, you may need to
adjust your sharing settings so you can share plans and view each other's Family & Friends list. Your mom should then be able to assign the tickets to the correct Guests, and you should still be able to make plans for the profiles you manage in your account.
Although visiting Walt Disney World Resort with a large group is tons of fun, I can certainly understand that sometimes you might want to split up and plan activities separately. (In fact, I highly recommend this!) When making
Disney Park Pass reservations,
dining reservations, or booking
Lightning Lane experiences with Genie+, you'll have the option to "Select All" or choose which Guests from your list to include on those plans.
Cathy, if I misunderstood your question, please
write back with more information and I'll do my best to help. You can also
give the My Disney Experience tech team a call at (407) 939-4357 for assistance with your account.
