    Hi, large family trip is being planned with 8 adults and 5 kids (8, 8, 4 ,4, & 2). The debate is 5 days v. 7 days. Thoughts/experiences? Thanks

    Hi Catherine,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you are planning a fabulous family trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

As you may have guessed, your question represents a quintessential debate for many of us! Let me offer a few thoughts to consider. If this is a first visit for your family or just the children, I recommend staying for a longer period of time - typically at least six nights/seven days.

Second, consider the type of resort hotel experience you would prefer. If you would prefer a Deluxe Villa or Deluxe Resort but have a tight budget, I suggest staying for a shorter amount of time.

Third, consider resort hotel location. With such a large party, it will take some time for you all to move from place to place. Take a look at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Each of these resorts has access to the Resort Monorail, Water Taxi, and Bus Transportation. My family loves to walk to Magic Kingdom from Disney's Contemporary Resort!

Be sure to make your resort hotel reservations now if you have not done so already. With such a large party, I strongly suggest that you make dining reservations 180 days in advance and Fast Pass+ reservations 60 days in advance. Be sure to reserve Character Meals!

Finally, I suggest that you purchase Memory Maker. Your group can share all of the PhotoPass photos and everyone gets in the photo!

    Happy planning!
