Hiya Carrie,
Welcome to planDisney! I love that you are planning a family vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Your family is going to have so much fun together, especially with all of the incredible offerings for
Cool KIDS' SUMMER!
One thing I know is that central to any good vacation is, of course, time at the pool. Nothing is better on a warm sunny day than splashing around the pool together! Traditionally, Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels do not allow “pool hopping,” but since the Walt Disney World Dolphin and Shades of Green are not technically under that umbrella, I reached out to learn more about their policies. Unfortunately, just like at Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels, the pools at
Shades of Green and the
Dolphin are reserved for registered Guests for those hotels. So you wouldn’t be able to visit each other’s pool during your trip. The Dolphin does allow Guests to purchase a ResortPass online that can grant access to their pool, but it is an additional cost. Shades of Green does not offer a similar program, however, so please keep that in mind.
I wish I had better news to share, Carrie, but I hope this was helpful. If a pool day is something you must have for your trip, have you checked out
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or
Blizzard Beach? My family and I just did
H2O Glow Nights last weekend, and it really was perfect for family fun. My toddlers loved floating along Castaway Creek, and we have already talked about when we plan to go back. This could be a great way to get together and enjoy a day on the water as a family. If you need anything else, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
