We have a large family group coming over New Year's and we want to do 1 big celebratory dinner. We have 4pm Hoop-Dee-Do reservations for NYE. Will we be able to make it to the parks (non MK) and still get in? Hoping to also drop the kids back to WL. Thx

It sounds like you're well aware that the theme parks sometimes have to close for capacity during the busiest holiday periods, Kristen.  There is really no telling what crowds will be like on New Years Eve this year, so the best I can offer you is some seasoned advice.  Because there is no guarantee that you'd be permitted park entry after the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, I would plan for a non-park activity to occupy you after your meal.  You might consider doing a sleigh ride around the Fort Wilderness campground followed by a trip to Disney's BoardWalk for a spin on a surrey bike.  As the night draws to a close, stake a spot on the beach at Disney's Polynesian for a view of the fireworks.  Of course, you can always attempt to visit a theme park after your dinner show.  If you get in, fabulous!  And if not, then keep my advice in the back of your mind to use as a plan B.  Either way, have a great time celebrating!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
