We have a large family of 19 going to Disneyland. I have my family of 5 linked on my app but other family members are on mine as well. Should I remove them from my profile so the other family members can better manage their own experience? If so, how?

Hey there, Cris! Thanks for popping in to planDisney with this great question. Going to Disneyland Resort in a large group is a ton of fun – you’re in for such a treat! You’re smart to be thinking ahead about logistics like this, to make your visit much smoother.

I have good news – multiple people can link the same tickets to their account. So, you don’t need to remove any family members – they can still link their tickets (and if you want, yours) to their accounts.

If you are planning to add Disney Genie+ to your tickets (my family always does, especially during the busier summer months, to save hours of time not waiting in queues) then you should designate at least two people in your party of 19 to be the Lightning Lane organizers. One person can secure Lightning Lanes for up to 12 people at a time. So, for your party of 19 you could consider having two or three people be your Lightning Lane organizers, and each of them can link a subset of the 19 tickets to their account. Or, you can have each family manage for themselves, however you prefer.

Let me offer you a few more tips about Genie+...

    1. You can pick one Lightning Lane per attraction per day. For example, you can use the Lightning Lane for Space Mountain only once in a day, but you could opt to use the standby queue if you want to ride it again.

    2. There are three attractions not included in Genie+ - these have Individual Lightning Lanes you can purchase ‘a la carte’ per ride, with or without Genie+. These Individual Lightning Lanes can be purchased for up to two different attractions each day, so plan accordingly because you can’t do all three Individual Lightning Lane attractions in a single day.

    3. The easiest way to find available Lightning Lane windows is in the Disneyland mobile app under the Tip Board. As you scroll down, for the attractions that have Lightning Lanes, you'll see "LL Disney Genie+" with a link to "Book Experience."

    4. Especially in a larger party, you may be splitting up and going to different attractions. When making Lightning Lane selections, you can select certain members of your party. Also, you can cancel a Lightning Lane, if you decide you want to book something else instead.

    5. You can make your next selection immediately after your current selection has been redeemed. And, if it’s been more than 120 minutes from the time you made the selection, even if your current selection’s arrival window hasn’t started, you can make a new selection. Example: at 9:00 a.m. you made a Lightning Lane selection for Incredicoaster, for which the arrival window starts at 1:00 p.m.. At 11:00 a.m., you can make another Lightning Lane selection, even though you haven’t redeemed your Incredicoaster Lightning Lane yet. Pro tip from my daughter - set a timer on your phone to remind you when to make your next selection!

    6. Genie+ gives you complimentary access to Disney PhotoPass for the day. This is a huge perk, especially to capture fun group photos! When you link attraction photos as well as those taken by Disney PhotoPass Photographers, you’ll have access to unlimited digital downloads for the day. Be sure to ask the photographer about taking a Magic Shot which includes special effects or character surprises!

Wishing you a super adventure with your magic carpet ride for 19!
