We have a large and diverse crowd. Ages at the time of travel will be 9 months, 4, 4, 6, 12 and 14 along with 8 adults! What is the best resort (moderate) for that crowd? We are POOL JUNKIES and plan to spend 2 days at the resorts/character dining events.

    Hi Maya,

Wow! What an amazing vacation you are planning, with such a large group of travelers. I love your plan of spending time at your resort. Resort days are some of my family's favorite days on a Walt Disney World vacation. The resorts include such amazing attention to detail and the themes are amazing!

I definitely recommend that you take time to look at the different Walt Disney World moderate resorts and consider which theme appeals to you the most. You might want the laid-back beach feel at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, or the quaint charm at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside or Mardi Gras fun at Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter.

My favorite of the moderate resort hotels is Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. I find it to be relaxing and peaceful, and the Dig Site pool area is expansive and fun, including a waterslide and the largest hot tub at Walt Disney World!

I would like to throw in one more recommendation for you, Maya - think about The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These stand alone cabins have separate sleeping and living areas, as well as a full kitchen and porch at each cabin! Since you mention that you will spend some time at your resort, I must mention that this resort has a ton of recreation options. From archery to backwoods Segway tours to pony and horseback riding as well as a pool with a waterslide, this resort is one of my family's favorites for resort days!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Maya. Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please let us know if you have any further questions!
