    land/sea 12/2014. I see that cruise attire is cruise casual. I read that is no shorts,swim suits or tanktops. I have a ten year old that likes to wear shorts. Will it be okay for him to wear dressier shorts to the 3 dinners on board?

    Welcome back to the Moms Panel and thanks so much for logging in another cruise question. Planning outfits for a cruise is a big event here at my household. I end up picking out all the outfits for myself and 2 kids. They're reaching that age when they don't necessarily want to wear what I set out for them anymore though. So pretty soon, they'll be handling all their packing for their own stuff (I hope soon). They've learned so much from dining at the Disney Cruise main restaurants.

    Sounds like your 10-year old son has a similar trait to my 12-year old son. They both enjoy being comfortable in shorts! Cruise casual will accept nice shorts for the boys to wear with a nice collared shirt. My son uses his usual khaki shorts or one of his nice cargo shorts for the evening dinners. He is comfortable and yet clean looking for the pictures after dinner.

    Don't forget to stop by the atrium in the evenings before or after dinner. There will normally be a setup of professional photography sets, ready to snap a new family photo for you guys. The backgrounds are signature Disney Cruise Line, and you can also take pictures with any of the characters available for their meet and greet sessions at around that time.
