Hey there Courtney,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! I'm happy to hear your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth will be here in just a few weeks - have you started counting down the days?
As for your question: Whew - this is a tough one. I'm in Arizona so I typically drive when visiting the Disneyland Resort, but when I do fly, it's almost always into
John Wayne Airport (SNA) as I find it a bit easier to make my way to the resort from that particular airport.
However, if you are scheduled to land at 6:57pm and have dinner reservations at 8:30pm, I'm afraid that's going to be cutting it pretty close. The uncontrollable factors that I'm thinking of are how long your plane takes to taxi, whether you need to wait to collect luggage, then any time it might take to get a ride to the resort, and - the most fearsome foe of them all: that unpredictable Los Angeles-area traffic.
You just never know what you'll encounter in any of those steps. Plus, even if you do just make it there on time, I'd imagine it could make for a pretty stressful start to your trip.
If it were me, I think I'd cancel the reservation and try for a meal for a different day at
Goofy's Kitchen and instead enjoy a meal when you arrive at
Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill, which is open until 10:00pm. The laid-back tiki vibes are sure to start your vacation off on a more relaxed foot.
I hope that helps, Courtney! Thanks again for your question, and I hope you have a wonderful trip to the Disneyland Resort.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
