Hey howdy hey, Jennifer!
Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for dropping by with your vacation planning question. I'm so excited to hear you'll be arriving at
The Most Magical Place on Earth in just one short month! It sounds like you'll be checking in at one of my all-time favorite Disney Resort hotels,
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Are you ready to be welcomed home as you enter that breathtaking, majestic lobby atrium!?
Jennifer, you'll be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort during the
Disney Princess Half Marathon. I won't be running during this year's Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, however, as a frequent runDisney event participant, I'm familiar with past runDisney course maps and road closures. During the Disney Princess Half Marathon, runners will work their way across Walt Disney World Resort and likely even have the magical opportunity to run directly through Cinderella Castle! In the past, half marathon courses have included the roads between
EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park, however, the road leading up to Disney's Wilderness Lodge (Timberline Drive) should still be accessible during these closures. Plus, if your flight arrives at Orlando International Airport at 10:00 a.m., it's likely that you won't be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort until around 10:30 a.m. when the road closures will already have ended. I don't foresee you having any issues with using a rideshare service to drop your luggage off before you begin your perfect Disney day!
I hope this information has been useful to you and I wish you safe travels on your upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. During your relaxing stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I encourage you to enjoy a meal or drink at the beautiful and scenic
Geyser Point Bar & Grill located directly on the lakeshore. If you visit during the evening, you might even catch the whimsical
Electrical Water Pageant or see the fireworks from
Disney Enchantment above the tops of the pine trees! No matter how you choose to enjoy your stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I wish you a most magical and memorable vacation.
The magic is calling,
Lauren
