Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho! It's off to Disney we go! Jiwon, I am thrilled to welcome you back to planDisney. It means so much when Guests rely on us for advice as they plan magical vacations!
You are starting the New Year with a bang! Landing at the Orlando airport and heading straight to the parks with your
Lightning Lane passes already secured – This is the way! Your question reminds me of a trip with my friend
Candace. We were doing the same math: figuring out transportation to drop off bags and get to our Lightning Lane for
TRON Lightcycle / Run. It can be done!
I have a few tips that will hopefully help you swing like Tarzan from tree to tree to cross the jungle with record speed.
The quickest way from the airport to
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is to use a private rideshare service, such as Lyft or Uber. If you have checked luggage, I would check the Lyft or Uber app while waiting for your bags to get an estimate of wait times. The pickup location is not far from the Baggage Claim area, so if the wait is long, you may want to request a ride once the bags start arriving. There should also be taxis available as another option. The ride from the airport to
Walt Disney World usually takes 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
I would take advantage of the
direct-to-room service. You can check in early in the
My Disney Experience app. When your room is ready, you will get a notification and your room number, so you can skip the front desk and head straight to your room if you have a MagicBand+ or a
Disney MagicMobile pass set up on your phone. If your room is not ready, Hakuna Matata! You can leave your bags at Bell Services and pick them up after all of your fun at the
Magic Kingdom.
From All-Star Movies, you can use complimentary
Resort Transportation to hop aboard a bus to the Magic Kingdom. I would plan to spend an hour dropping bags at the resort and traveling to the Magic Kingdom.
Even with all the stops, you should be confident about enjoying all your plans. The Lightning Lane passes also have a one-hour window for cushion. If your Single Lightning Lane for TRON starts at 7:35 p.m., you have until 8:35 p.m. for this pass.
Now, you will want to be on the earlier side of the window if seeing the
Happily Ever After fireworks from the front of
Cinderella Castle is a priority. You should get to Main Street, U.S.A. at least a half hour before the fireworks to find a good spot.
After the fireworks, you will have plenty of time to head to the mine where a million diamonds shine! I love the Mine Train always, but it is extra sparkly at night!
Jiwon, I hope your day is as Snow White sings, "away to your castle you go to be happy forever, I know!" If you have any other questions, know we are always Happy to see you at
planDisney!
Magic Awaits!
