Ahoy, Laila!
I'm happy to hear you've got a
Land and Sea vacation on the horizon, and that you've already scheduled Disney Ground Transfers to make the transition from land to sea smooth and easy.
You'll receive detailed instructions in your resort room the night before you sail, telling you what time and where your luggage will be picked up and taken to the ship. (Usually around 8am, and it will be picked up right inside your resort room). Make sure to pack a day bag with your cruise documents, passports (or other forms of ID), medications, valuables, etc. since it will be late afternoon on the ship before you're reunited with your checked bags. You'll also be given a time and place to meet your motorcoach, typically between 11:00am and 1:30pm.
We usually have a very small breakfast on cruise embarkation day, because we like to arrive hungry! Once you board the ship, you'll have several options for lunch. Our first stop is always the all-you-care-to-enjoy soft-serve ice cream machine (who says you can't start with dessert - you're on vacation!), followed by the delicious buffet at
Cabanas. Crab legs, anyone? Have as many as you like! One of the Main Dining restaurants will also be open, as well as the Quick Service windows (pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc) around the pool deck. All dining locations will typically close by 3:30 to prepare for the Mandatory Guest Assembly Drill.
When we've taken Disney transfers from our Walt Disney World Resort hotel to Port Canaveral, we've always arrived in plenty of time to enjoy a delicious lunch before setting sail, so I'm sure you'll be able to as well!
I hope this helps with your planning and preparations for an upcoming Land and Sea adventure. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
