Happy New Year to a magical 2023! I really like and appreciate your sense of planning. You are correct, the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon will take place on Sunday, January 8, 2022. While I do not know which Disney Resorts Collection Hotel your travels will take you to, even with road closures, alternative routes will be available. I suggest you pack your patience as runners will be active on the marathon course all morning and into the early afternoon. If you are headed to the parks after you arrive at your hotel, I recommend taking Walt Disney World Transportation as the drivers will know the quickest routes to the parks.

Since you are driving, maybe consider heading to Disney Springs to catch brunch or an early lunch to burn some time? You cannot go wrong with brunch offerings at City Works Eatery & Pour House or grab a first-come-first-serve bar stool for my favorite brunch at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'. I humbly suggest the Hallelujah Biscuits paired with the Royal Sangria.

As a guest of a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you can take advantage of your 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry to all four theme parks. This gives you access to those coveted attractions before the parks officially open.
