We'll land at 11am and may not be able to check into our rooms until 3. So with kids ages 10, 7 and 5 1/2, what should we bring with us on the plane so we can start our visit the afternoon of our first day there?

Hi Robin! Your magical vacation can certainly begin the minute you arrive at your resort whether your room is ready or not. Go directly to the resort and check in. If your room is not ready they will make sure they have your cell phone number and will text you as soon as it is. When you check in they will give you your room key card and when they text you they will notify you of the room number making this a great and easy process. Since you likely won't arrive much before 12:30 from the airport I suggest you consider having lunch right away. I like to enjoy the resort and get to know where everything is. Bring clothes that the kids can change into if you are coming from a cold climate and that can include perhaps their bathing suits. Once you are done with lunch and if your room is still not ready you can enjoy swimming in the pool or pools. Make sure you don't forget the sun screen and hats and sunglasses! Traveling is exhausting and suggest you don't try to head to parks until you have rested, eaten, and checked into your room so you can organize and relax. Getting to know your resort is fun and this is such a good time to do this. You can make a dining resrvation for dinner in a park or another resort later that evening.
