Joe from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My lady and I are going for the first time. I have linked us in the Disney app, But I do not see her magic band linked, nor do I see her linked to our room. What do I need to do to add her to the room, so her band will unlock the door also?

Hi Joe! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! I'm so glad you found us!

Oh boy! Your first time visiting the Walt Disney World Resort! I cannot imagine how excited you and your significant other must be! My first time visiting was as an adult as well, and now I know what I was missing out on for all of these years. With four different theme parks, two water parks, over 20 resort hotels, and countless additional experiences, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy when visiting. From the minute you enter under the archways and onto Walt Disney World property, you are completely immersed in the magic!

With the long journey across the country from California, I'm sure you want all your plans squared away before arriving at the end of next month. Since you are having trouble viewing everyone in your party on the My Disney Experience App, we can try troubleshooting to see what the issue is. First, log on to the app and select the three horizontal bars on the bottom right of your screen. Scroll down until you find "My Profile". Tap on this and select "Family & Friends List". If she is not listed here, you will need to "Add a Guest" to add her to your account. Once that is taken care of, go back to "My Profile" and select "MagicBands & Cards". You can then link her MagicBand to your account by entering the unique ID Code located on the back of her MagicBand.

The last piece of the puzzle is to make sure she is linked to your Disney Resorts Hotel reservation. Tap on the three horizontal bars again and select "Resort Hotel". Scroll down until you see the Guests listed on the room reservation. If she is not listed, you will need to call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line and speak to a friendly Cast Member for assistance. They will be able to make any updates to your room information.

Joe, with this being your first ever visit, my best piece of advice is to manage your expectations. Walt Disney World is a big place, and it is impossible to fit everything into one trip. Make a list of your must-dos, including attractions, dining locations, and experiences that you definitely want to fit in. This way you'll know what is important to you in order to have a magical stay! If you think of any additional questions, stop back to see me here at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
