Hello Ladies! We're going on our first trip to Disneyworld in January next year. What kind of weather should we expect at that time of year? And are we allowed to bring in groceries to our hotel room? We'll be staying at All Star Movies. SO EXCITED!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Anne!

A first trip to Disney World is always super exciting! Be sure to pick up "1st Visit" buttons for all of you when you check-in to Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. Its super cute by the way!

January is typically a cooler weather month to visit Disney World.  The average high temperatures are around 70 which makes the days perfect for visiting the theme parks   The average low temperatures are in the high 40s so you'll want to pack a jacket for the evenings.  They usually get a little over 2 inches of rain during the month of January in Central Florida so throwing in a poncho would not hurt.

Keep in mind these are averages.  I've visited in January when the days were much warmer and I remember one Disney Marathon weekend that it was really cold.  I'd recommend going to weather.com and checking the 10-day forecast just before your trip to make sure there isn't some unusual weather front coming through that you need to pack something different in preparation.

You are absolutely allowed to bring groceries into your hotel room.  We do each trip and its a great way to save money. Its also very handy for those mornings where you'll be heading out early to make rope drop or when you need a late night snack after returning from a fun-filled day.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We're hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
